Personal Statement
My goal is to play competitive college volleyball while earning my degree. I want to major in Psychology with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development. Playing college volleyball is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would be blessed to experience. This is an experience I have dreamed of since I first started playing volleyball when I was 9.
I am a very versatile player. I played setter through middle school. I mainly play Middle and Outside as well as DS. One of my strengths is my ability to stay positive and encourage my teammates. I am dedicated and hard working. I spend many hours outside of practice time working on improving my skills as well as strength and conditioning. I also play basketball and have always been a multi-sport athlete. I love playing team sports and developing bonds with others that have the same passion and love of the game.
My dad always says "You play as hard as you practice." In other words, go hard in practice so you can go hard in games. My parents have instilled in me a strong work ethic and taught me to be good teammate.
I realize being a successful student athlete takes a great commitment. Olympic champion, Wilma Rudolph said "It doesn't matter what you're trying to accomplish. It's all a matter of discipline." I believe I am disciplined and dedicated to becoming a great asset to a competitive college volleyball program. ~ Madelyn Bohman, Class of 2023
