My name is Sofía Isabelle Misla Torres. Since elementary school I started pursuing my dreams: becoming a professional volleyball player. Volleyball has become my passion: I feel motivated and comfortable when I’m in the court. I’ve played for my school volleyball teams and volleyball clubs such as G.V.A (Guaynabo Volleyball Academy) and currently Ponce Elite. All these years I played as a libero. I’m 5’0 but my height hasn’t become a barrier for playing in competitive teams at competitive levels. I have participated in many tournaments in Puerto Rico and U.S., such as AAU, giving me the opportunity to develop. Recently I started playing beach volleyball. It has helped me improve my skills at the court. Despite the academic workload I have managed to play volleyball and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I’m part of the National Honor Society, Is the public relations officer for the Pre Med Club of my school and recently my classmates have elected me as the Junior Class President. I consider my teammates my family and our victories are part of each players effort. I consider myself to be a very intense person with clear long-term objectives. I take very seriously the performance I obtained from my work. Some of my goals are to become a Physical Therapist and one day open a clinic, play volleyball at the university and play professional volleyball.
