My name is Brianna Gartner. I play volleyball and I am a libero. I have been playing volleyball for six years. My graduating class is 2022. When I play volleyball, I focus on how I can improve my game. I also focus on how I can improve as a team player. I am a multi-sport athlete and I am a driven student-athlete. I always work hard in athletics, academics and life in general.
In second grade, it was determined I was a dual exceptional learner. I was diagnosed with severe Dyslexia and I was gifted. Only two percent of students fall into this category of learner. My determination and work ethic proved to be very fruitful in all aspects of my life. I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I plan to take Advanced Placement courses in my Sophomore year and have interests in Premed.
I played volleyball for my high school, Assumption High School, this past fall and was moved up to the Sophomore team. In addition, I play club volleyball for Iowa Select Volleyball Club in Davenport, Iowa. Our team qualified for Nationals and will be playing in June/July of 2019. The last two years I attended the Iowa High Performance volleyball try-outs, where I was honored to be selected to participate in the camp both years. I have played beach volleyball for two years where my partner and I have been very successful winning our local volleyball league and a tournament we entered in November of 2018. We are playing again this year and are undefeated. In addition to volleyball, I enjoy playing soccer, weight lifting and running.
I am in search of universities or colleges that will support me academically as well as athletically. I am a well-rounded student-athlete that is grounded in faith. I have given back to the community in various ways of service. I have excellent support from my family, friends, teachers and coaches which is helping me to become someone who can provide great value to this world.
