Aliesha White '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Aliesha White and I am a Libero/DS for the class of 2020. I have been playing volleyball since 6th grade. I played on my school's middle school team for two years. My 8th grade year I played on my high school Freshman and JV teams as the starting Libero. My freshmen year I began playing Varsity also as the starting Libero. I began playing club volleyball for Lexington United when I was in 6th grade. I started on a regional team and have played the past several years at the national level.

Prior to volleyball, I was a club swimmer.  I swam 5 years for the Wildcat Aquatics (club team at the University of Kentucky). I still love the water and swim competitively during the summer months for a neighborhood team. A typical summer morning consists of being at the pool at 8 am and then heading to school for workouts and practice with my high school volleyball team.

Because of my love for volleyball and desire to continually strive to improve I am always looking for opportunities to develop my game and get better. I am always open to feedback and guidance from my coaches and quick to adjust my play based upon their feedback. During the off season, I will be in the weight room working with our strength coach several times a week and participating in all open gyms at my school. I also enjoy working with younger girls that are new to the game in camp settings. Volleyball has given me the opportunity to develop my leadership skills both on and off the court. It has taught me how to win with humility and lose with poise.

While I have not decided what I want to pursue as a major in college, I do have interest in elementary education. Academically I enjoy my math and science classes. I am maintaining a 3.95 GPA.
