Hi I’m Katelyn Clarke, I'm a C/O 2027 15 year old setter/libero. I have been training and competing since I was 5. Gymnastics was my focus until the age of 11. I won my first gold medal at my very first meet at the age of 5 and a love of competing was born. At 10 years old I discovered volleyball and a year later my focus shifted to the sport. I love the team dynamics and competitiveness of the sport. I enjoy working with my coaches and teammates to do whatever it takes to succeed. Often that means extra time in the gym, private strength training, stepping into new roles, leading the team prayer, staying mentally focused, or even just helping a teammate remember the rotations! I am willing to try anything new and will work until I can execute a new skill. I learned early how to set big goals for myself and I know the time and commitment it takes to realize them. My current goal is to play at the collegiate level. I was recently named most coachable by my club’s coach/owner. I just finished my freshman year high school season. I played on the freshman, JV, and varsity teams. While this was big time commitment with practice and games I loved my time on the court. I was named to the varsity 2nd team all district team as a freshman and started in all levels of play. I was also selected as MVP for my JV team. This was my 3rd trip to AAU nationals this summer with my club team. I have been the setter but I also have a strong defensive skill set and have stepped into the libero/DS position needed. When I am given the opportunity I will be a positive influence and strong addition to any collegiate team.
My family believes that it takes hard work to get anywhere in life and I am willing to work hard for the college that is the right fit for me. That doesn’t end with athletics. I will also put in the work academically. I am still deciding what my career future will look like and I’m open to different college options.
In my free time I also cheer for my high school’s football and basketball teams, weight lift, water ski, tube, duck hunt, fish, spend time with friends and family, and attend church. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me!
