2017 HighlightsI've always taken initiative when it comes to volleyball; from convincing my parents to sign me up on my first team, to petitioning for a volleyball team at my school. I take playing very seriously, and never miss out on an opportunity to learn more about being the best at my sport. I aspire to become a Biomedical Engineer and create innovative technology to assist people with disabilities. Although I want to focus on my academics and do well in school, I love playing ball and want to continue playing throughout college. Volleyball motivates me and, as the captain of my high school team, I'm always there to encourage my teammates and push them to be the best players they can be.
I can be placed anywhere on the court and still perform well to benefit my team. I first learned how to play as a middle hitter and currently hit outside. But, because I don’t want to pigeon-hole myself to the front row, I’ve been training to play as a setter and am completely comfortable with passing and playing on defense as well. I'm willing to fill in that missing hole on a team roster if it means I get to play. I joined my varsity track team this year so I can become a more conditioned athlete. I believe my flexibility, team spirit, and leadership abilities will be an asset to any college team.
