I am passionate about volleyball and elephants! Last year I traveled to Thailand and volunteered with the organization GLA, Global Leadership Adventures. The first two weeks I taught English to elementary school children, and the second week I took care of an Asian Elephant named, Pucom.
Previous coaches have told me that I am a natural leader on the court because of my positivity and communication skills. I don't think I truly realized this until after my adventure in Thailand. Controlling a 5 ton animal is no small task. It takes physical and metal strength, and lots of confidence. This explains why my camp counselor chose me to work with the largest of the herd.
I am an all-around solid volleyball player. I have mostly played middle and opposite, but have also played setter, defensive specialist, and Libero. This is the first club season that I have dedicated to the back row and am learning a ton. I love diving, reading hitters, communicating to my teammates, and being where all the action is! I understand that a winning point for my team begins with a great pass, and I like the pressure!
I would be extremely excited to have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level while I learn how to improve the lives of people and/or endangered animals on this planet.
