My name is Riley Marino and I am a senior at Franklin High School in Franklin, Massachusetts.
Our Franklin HS team finished our season ranked 3rd in the state. Our 2018 fall season record was 20-1 with our only loss in the MA D1 State Semifinals. It was an amazing run for our HS team and I was truly grateful to be part of our successful and memorable season. I now look forward to continuing my volleyball career in college.
As a senior, I have two main focuses in my life: volleyball and school.
I have been playing volleyball my whole life and I have loved playing competitively for the past 6 years. I have played for Division I Franklin High School since my Freshman year. I started playing competitive club at the age of 12. As a freshman I made and started on the Junior Varsity team. My sophomore, junior and now senior year I was the starting libero on the Varsity team. During the off seasons, I play on the top level club team for CMASS (Central Massachusetts Volleyball Club). I play libero and defensive specialist. My role on the court is not only to pass but also to lead and support my teammates. I am a vocal player as I try and orchestrate the plays on the court among the six of us playing. Volleyball provides a fun, fulfilling, hardworking activity for me.
My academics are very important to me as well. I have challenged myself in high school to take Advanced Placement and Honors courses throughout. I have strived to maintain a high G.P.A. and continue to play volleyball and participate in several clubs (e.g. Student government, one-to-one buddy in the Best Buddies Program, Spanish Honors Society, 40% Club) at school.
