Sofia DePina '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches! My name is Sofia DePina and I am in the graduating class of 2027 at Milton High School located in Milton, Massachusetts. I play for my high school volleyball team as well as Southern Alliance Elite for club season. I play as a libero/ defensive specialist.

Playing volleyball while receiving a good education is a goal for me during this process of recruitment. My energy, attitude, effort and hustle on the court are the things that separates me from others. My mindset has always been to fail forward, as everyone is human and makes mistakes. In addition, laughing and learning from errors or plays that have been in my team’s favor and vice versa. These aspects help not only myself, but my team and coaches to better our play of volleyball and to have fun while doing so.

I am known for my quick movement, energy, loud voice, and hustle. As a team leader, I lead by example and encourage my teammates every day on and off the court. I am very coachable and always strive to be one of the hardest working players and recruits you’ll find.     

In the classroom, I am committed to my studies to maintain a good GPA. My favorite subject was Biology because I enjoy learning about the functions of life. Next year I am taking Human Anatomy. Both of these classes will help prepare me for college courses. I am very interested in studying nursing and entering a bachelor of science (BSN) program.

When not in school or playing volleyball, I like to spend time with my father if it's just watching our TV show or driving around. I also like to cook and exercise. More recently I am paying attention to nutrition and learning how to eat healthier. I also volunteer at local youth volleyball camps which has helped me grow as a leader. 

I want to attend a college where I can push myself both academically and athletically. Balancing academics and athletics has taught me discipline and time management, and I am proud of my growth as both a student and an athlete. I am open to all options and hope to find the right college match for me as an athlete and academically . My goal is to be a great role model for my peers and make my parents proud.
