I have been fortunate to experience the world in a unique way. My parents were both in the military, so I moved around a lot. I have lived eight different places. This made me into a very adaptable person. Volleyball has been a constant in my life; no matter where I am, volleyball is the same.
I started volleyball in 8th grade in Florida. Before then, soccer had been my main sport. As I quickly learned, I was behind my other teammates who had been playing for longer. This pushed me to work hard. Moving to Massachusetts was a big change. At my new school volleyball was a growing sport and comparatively, where I had been average in Florida, I was above average. This boosted my confidence on the court and my voice as a leader. I worked hard and earned the respect of the team, who made me captain for my senior year.
Today, I work as hard as ever and continue to push my limitations. I am a very passionate player and give it my all every time I step onto the court. I like to think that I am a very coachable player, and take constructive criticism very well. I love volleyball and would love to have the opportunity to play at a higher level. I am looking for a liberal arts school and plan to major in international relations. I am also interested in possibly completing a pre-med track.
