I'm very excited to possibly have the opportunity to play volleyball at a collegiate level. I love the team aspect of the sport, as well as the necessary drive and passion to win. As my family and friends would tell you, I'm extremely competitive and hate to lose, so you can be sure that I always give my all every chance I get. I'm a very coachable player as I am always listening and working hard to make any changes given to me by a coach, because I am constantly looking to improve my play. Over my six years of experience I have been used in every position, whether it was a setter and outside for my high school team, or opposite and defensive specialist on my club team. Even at 5' 6" my coach used me as a middle for some of our season, as he believed I was an effective blocker and all around smart player who could adapt to any position on the court, especially under pressure.
Although I greatly value a school's athletic program, I wish to attend a college that meets my athletic and academic goals. I'm currently enrolled in 4 honors and 2 AP courses, and even with my busy schedule, I consistently get good grades and have been awarded several academic achievement awards.
This past high school volleyball season, I was a starting varsity player for the Walpole Volleyball Rebels, or "Rebvol" as we liked to call ourselves, and for the third year in a row, I was awarded the title of 1st Team All-Star player for the Bay State Conference. Additionally, I was selected to the D1 All-State team as one of the top 18 High School players in MA. I also played softball for my high school; originally making the Freshman team, I proved my resilience as I ended up playing more than half the season on Varsity as a starting Right Fielder. This year I am looking forward to attending Winterfest (1/13 - 1/15), Capitol Hill Classic in Washington DC (2/17 - 2/19), NEAAU GrandPrix in Rhode Island (2/24 - 2/25), Boston Volleyball Festival (3/2 - 3/4), Colorado Crossroads in Denver (3/16 3/19), Big South in Atlanta (3/30 - 4/2), and USAV Nationals in Anaheim (4/27 - 4/29). My dream is to receive a great education while playing and continuing to grow in the sport that I love.
