The most important thing that you need to know about me is that I never stop trying to improve. I have been on teams in my life where I have had to work hard to earn a spot, or other teams where I have a spot as a starter. But in either situation, there is always room to get better. I always want to work hard to improve. Because I love the game of volleyball and I want to make a positive contribution to my team.
In the last few years I have dealt with a few health scares, including having a tumor removed that was 22cm. I had to deal with the scare that it could be cancerous, and the recovery from the surgery. I am very lucky that it wasn't cancerous and it did not effect my training for very long. What this experience did do was make me appreciate every minute I get to live, to do what I love and to also be on the court. It is not given to you. It is not easy. And you have to earn it all the way.
My goal for college is to become a veterinarian. I have loved animals my whole life. Through volunteering at animal hospitals and horse farms I have seen the beauty in animals and the need for care. It isn't always going to be easy, and tough decisions will have to be made, but I want to be a veterinarian to help animals live better, and when necessary to help them to not suffer.
