Hi! I'm Olivia Pineda-Andersen, and I started playing volleyball in the sixth grade, quickly developing a passion and skill for the sport. I was promoted to varsity by the eighth grade due to my talent and effort. I am extremely committed to playing volleyball, and I've sacrificed an immense amount of extra time and energy to improvement, and I've even sacrificed my former sport of cross country to focus on my volleyball goals.
In the classroom and other academic environments, I work my hardest to reach the high standards I hold for myself. I'm an all-A's student, and I try to be involved in every academic extracurricular available to me. This includes being elected to the Youth Advisory Committee's Executive Committee, representing SAFE in NM's anti-drug coalition (especially to set an example for athletes), NHS, and much more.
Regarding club sports, I was cut from my current travel team, the Avalanche Volleyball Club, 3 years in a row before I finally made the 16-U Winter State team in the winter of 2024-'25. This is not a fact I share because it's an accomplishment, but I do share it because I'm proud of the years of off-season work I put in and the way they paid off for me. I truly think this shows how I'm a resilient and hardworking athlete who's willing to do what it takes to succeed.
I aspire to play college volleyball for a D-2 or possibly D-1 school in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, or Ohio. I’m continuing to work extremely hard, seeking improvement in my volleyball skills as a middle blocker and outside hitter, while balancing extracurriculars and education. I know I have far more talent in me that will come with time, dedication, effort, and the help of excellent, kind coaches and teammates. Please contact me with any questions/comments, and especially about camp opportunities.
