2020 HighlightsHello, my name is Kassidy Carpenter and I am a DS/Libero, class of 2022. Every time I step on the court this sport gets better. I always look forward to playing volleyball.
I love the game. I have been playing volleyball since 2014. As of 2016, I have been playing competitive volleyball on local, regional, and national club teams. One of the main reasons why I love volleyball is because when I step on the court, I am playing alongside players I consider family. They have my back and I have their backs.
Being a Libero is a huge responsibility on the court. You have to be able to have a strong mindset to want every ball. I love being a Libero because I am the most important part of defending a kill and preparing a response. Without a return pass from a dig, the front row wouldn't get a chance to make their kill.
I am a very supportive and coachable player. I will work hard to do whatever is needed to better myself and my team. Volleyball has also allowed me to develop a strong work ethic. During club season, weekly training can be as much as three times a week. In addition, I also work one to two days a week with a D1 volleyball player. I’ve had the luxury of working with high school level coaches as well. I’d have to say my passion, dedication, sacrifice, and willingness to work on and off the court proves I will be a dedicated and successful college student-athlete.
I would love to go to college to pursue a major in engineering. I have always loved to think outside of the box and I know that education is the key to my success off the court and in the community. I am a creative thinker, have collaborative skills and effective communication.
My dedication and commitment are just as strong in the classroom, as I received a 3.8 after my junior year (2020/21). I am focused on building a strong high school career, both athletically and scholastically. I look forward to playing another year of varsity and club volleyball my senior year.
I am your next college athlete.
