Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Abby Hicks and I’m currently a Junior at Leland High School where I’m a setter and coached by renowned Michigan Hall of Fame volleyball Coach Laurie Glass.

I live with my parents and I’m an only child, so volleyball has enabled me to be part of a larger family and given me more confidence on and off the court.

I’m a member of the Nationals Honor’s Society, National Art Honor Society, Honor Roll and Class President of my Junior Class.

In the off season I also play club travel volleyball for Northshore where I’m a setter and have also played beach volleyball for the last five seasons.

My future goals are to continue to improve all my volleyball skills and to become a better setter. After high school it is my dream and goal to take my skills to the next level and play college volleyball.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
