I am very passionate about volleyball. I love to teach others about the sport and hope that I inspire younger children to enjoy the game as well. During the summer/fall (2020) I set up a neighborhood volleyball team of 13 children ranging in ages 6 to 11. We had practices, games, and I made everyone 2 t-shirt jerseys to keep. During the summer/fall (2021) I helped/provided private coaching to a couple of the children from my 2020 year's neighborhood volleyball team. Both made their school teams and club teams. In Spring (2022) I was asked to come and coach my own team for our local rec. sports center. I coached a mixed girls' team of 5th & 6th grade and assisted with the 7th & 8th grade girls' team. I continued coaching for the rec. sports center during the summer, coaching both a 5th & 6th grade and 7th & 8th grade team. A couple of my players went on to make their 2022 school team and a club team for the 2023 season. I have continued to coach and am currently head coach for a 14's club team this 2024 season.
I was the captain for my high school 2021 team (elected by my peers) and for my club team (2022 season). MaxPreps High School Stats for my Junior year (2022): played 88 sets, missed 4 matches due to injury, I took 2nd in our Conference for number of assists, played as setter. I ended my high school volleyball, playing all 4 years (2 on JV and 2 on Varsity, bypassing our Freshman team). I have played club volleyball for the past 5 years and am playing for the last season (2024 on 18's).
Along with encouraging others to try the sport, I am a good academic student. I have continued to maintain grades of A's and B's while taking as many honors and AP classes as possible each school year. During my senior year (23/24) I have maintained my academic drive and am taking dual enrollment classes at Schoolcraft College.
I feel that I have a positive attitude, am a great teammate, am self-motivated, and a hard worker. I believe I would be great addition to your program because of my sportsmanship and willingness to help my teammates.
