My name is Raya Sebek and I play as a DS and Libero for Sauk Centre Public Schools in central Minnesota. I started playing volleyball in 4th grade and with great confidence, I believe it was the single best decision I've made growing up. Not only was I taught the game, but also how to be a well rounded teammate, friend, and student. The truth is, without volleyball I wouldn't have half of the relationships I have now. Nor would I be the person I am today. Sports build so much character and I am so thankful that I was one of the lucky few to be blessed with the coaches and teammates that I have, between all of my sports and school activities. The fall of 2021 I had the honor of dressing varsity and accompanying the Sauk Centre Volleyball team on the road to State. I was one of the two sophomores that had this opportunity, and it was truly a once in a life time experience. Sitting on the bench I can just remember watching set after set, in awe of my teammates before me. With every point their determination inspired me, and I knew, I want to have the chance to be one of the girls playing on that floor someday soon.
