Emma Hinze '23 Recruiting Profile

"There will always be factors beyond your control, but how you deal with them defines you."    I am passionate about playing college volleyball, but I am also passionate about being a culinary arts major.  There are very few schools that offer both volleyball and a 4 year culinary degree.   However I have been blessed to travel my whole life and I’m willing to travel far from home to find the perfect combination.  I am an honor student.  I'm not afraid of hard work.  I am driven.  I've been playing competitive volleyball since 5th grade.  I love practice as much as the games.  I am that player who shows up early, leaves late, and helps others along the way.  I study the game to become a better player for my teammates.  I lead by example and  my character is that of integrity and preserverence.   A former coach (Yinkon Her) praised me for not only being coachable, but the most mentally tough player (setter) he's ever coached.   I have been floor captain for my club team and school team the last 3 years.   In Summer 2021, I won the Most Versatile Player Award at the Southeast Missouri State University D1 Elite Camp. In Winter 2021 I won the Most Valuable Teammate Award. In Winter 2020 I won the 110% Award.   I bloom where I am planted.  I have been focusing on my hitting skills since growing 4 inches  last summer.   I have HEART, but know that alone will not make me a better player. I work weekly with a trainer to increase my speed, arm swing and vertical.   Follow me on my Youtube channel Emma Hinze.
