Personal Statement
My name is Ashlynn Pratt. I originally did not plan to pursue a college athletic career, but here I am. With the help of my coach and a little inspiration from my friends and teammates I have decided to go after the dream I have always had but never wanted to pursue. I have been playing volleyball since 6th grade (6th and 7th grade intramural volleyball; 8th-grade JV secondary setter; 9th-bench player on varsity team, captain and setter of the JV team; 10th-starting setter in a 2-4 rotation; 11th-starting setter in a 5-1 rotation; 12th-captain of the team and starting setter in a 5-1 rotation and occasionally play a 6-2 rotation as a setter and opposite). I first decided I wanted to be a setter in 7th grade and have worked hard ever since trying to find everything I can and talk to everyone I can about becoming the best setter I can be. I would describe myself as coachable, competitive, and driven. During off-season I play basketball and soccer at my school to help me stay active. I would prefer to play in a 6-2 rotation in college where I can set and hit opposite but am also very comfortable with a 5-1 rotation.
