Personal Statement
I originally started playing volleyball when I was eight years old because my sister played and I have loved it ever since. In addition to playing high school volleyball (playing on the freshman team one year and varsity three years), I also have 8 years of competitive club volleyball experience; I love playing volleyball with kids from other schools and having to manage all of the different personalities. One of the things I like most is being an emotional leader on the court and helping the team keep a positive attitude when we are struggling. Volleyball has taught me so many life lessons already, resilience and determination are two of them.
Besides volleyball I also do winter and spring track and was on the diving team my freshman year for my high school. These sports help me develop skills and muscles that are different than those that I work on while playing volleyball. When I'm not playing sports, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, studying, and fostering dogs. All of this has kept me very busy and has helped me learn how important it is to be good at time management so I am able to earn a 4.5 (out of 4.0) GPA. My goal for college is to find somewhere that I can grow as a student and a volleyball player.
