Emory Christensen '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Emory Christensen and I am currently starting my sophomore year of high school. I have been involved with club volleyball for 6 years. The first four years playing in the hitter position and most recently for the past two years I have transitioned to setting but I love both!  My freshman year of high school I was our starting varsity setter running a 5-1. I am most dominant as a setter and is my preferred position but I am a versatile player and can play the front row when running a 6-2.  I believe my time hitting makes me a better setter and I am at ease communicating with my hitters and their needs.  I am a 3 sport varsity athlete (volleyball, basketball and track), member of FFA, 4-H and a cheerleader. I have been playing volleyball since the 3rd grade for my school team as well as playing club volleyball for 6 years. I am a leader on and off the court, am coachable and highly competitive. I believe the best players should play to benefit the team as a whole but every player has a role making the team the best they can be. I maintained a 4.0 through my freshman year. I believe communication, having a great work ethic, respect and being able to make sacrifices for the good of my team are my best qualities. I want to push my teammates to bring out the best in them and in doing so expect the same in return.
