Personal Statement
Hello Coaches,
Thank you for visiting my profile on NCSA. Before I share my athletic aspirations, I want to share a few things about me as a person. I love animals. Horses in particular, but I have a soft spot for dogs. I have a boxer named Berkeley. Regarding horses, I enjoy competing with hunter/jumpers. I think horses are some of the most powerful and loving athletes in the world. I also love to cook. In fact I have been a private chef and catered. Before I was sixteen I won a state culinary competition, and was offered a position in a notable local restaurant.
I desire to play volleyball at the highest level possible. Currently I can see myself playing for a small Division 1 program. I am an all-around player, and have played multiple positions. As a high school freshman I filled the role as setter on our JV team. My sophomore year the Varsity team needed my help as a defensive specialist. This gave me the opportunity to improve my defensive skills. Due to player issues within the team, my coach asked me to move to varsity setter at the end of my sophomore season. I excelled as a sophomore setter in districts with a ball handling rate in excess of 97%. My athletic ability allowed me to earn a position as an opposite with a club team, despite not having previously played for any of the metro clubs. As a junior I earned the starting varsity setter position. At the beginning of my 2018 club season, I started out as an opposite. As the club season progressed, and my team qualified for the USA Volleyball Junior Nationals; my coach moved me to outside.
I am so excited and grateful to have to opportunity play at nationals in Detroit, Michigan. I love how challenging the play is. I very much enjoy competition, and pushing myself to compete at higher levels. I am equally excited to have been invited to the college showcase in Chicago, Illinois (July 27-29). I am eager to expand my setting capabilities with the coaching that will be offered at the Chicago showcase.
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me a little more. Please contact me with any questions.
