Elaina Roger '27 Recruiting Profile

Most people know me as Lainey. I am a 3 sport letter winner as a freshman.

I had been a gymnast most of my life and enjoyed playing volleyball when I had time. Towards the end of 7th grade, decided to become more serious about volleyball. I worked hard and quickly earned starting roles on my club and then high school teams.  I have discovered through this journey something I love even more than gymnastics. 

Volleyball has given me a freedom to be myself. I am able to open up and be a leader on the court. 

I believe if I am going to do something, then I am going to do it the best I can possibly do it. It is not uncommon for my coaches to have to tell me when to quit. I am a naturally positive person with an infectious, fun attitude who leads by example. I love to lift those up around me. We all do better when we are smiling. 

I started my volleyball career as a middle. The perfect place to work really hard and really learn the game. However, I am working towards becoming a complete player who can play anywhere on the court. I love to hit as much as I love to dig. I learn fast and work hard. I am happiest when I am contributing, no matter what role that may be. 

I am only going to continue to push my limits and get better. I will bring with me a strong work ethic, a positive, coachable attitude, and the skill to improve any position I play. My goal is to compete at the highest level possible for as long possible. I only have so long to be an amazing athlete and I want to make the most of it.

I don't quit, and I won't quit on this journey either. I look forward to hearing from you!
