2021 HighlightsVolleyball to me is not just a game, it is more than a game. It is my love, it is my passion, it is the game that is always by my side, and it is the game that gives me the most enjoyment whenever I am playing or watching it. I started playing volleyball at the age 9 but when I began my first year at club when I was 11 my volleyball ambitions began moving forward. I learned life lessons and important skills on and off the court such as, leadership. I was captain for 3 years straight, which taught me that a leader is selfless, not selfish. So, not matter the circumstance I cheer and support my teammates. Time management is a big lesson I learned from a young age because with all the trainings and practices for volleyball almost everyday I am able to maintain a 4.0. Perseverance was very needed during this time during COVID but it didn’t stop my connection to volleyball because I am not one to weaken or stop trying when situations are tough. So for awhile I just practiced volleyball at home until I took a shot at beach volleyball. It was a new experience I had to get used to but I always put 110% no matter the situation in volleyball it can be in a game or even just practice.
I want to continue playing both beach and indoor volleyball in a D1 level in college while studying in medical field. But it’s very important to me that the college isn’t just a place where I grow as a player, but to grow to become a good person. I want the coaches to challenge and push me not to just do my best on the court but off.
