Megan Kaloukian '18 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile page and for allowing me the opportunity to fulfill my lifelong dream of playing volleyball at the college level.  I discovered volleyball in a 6th grade gym class and I was immediately "hooked." I began going to clinics, camps...anything in my area that involved volleyball. Luckily, I discovered Sideout Sports Volleyball Club and the passion and energy that was displayed in that club only fueled my commitment to volleyball and becoming the best I could be.  I started playing on their National 14-1's team in 2014 and am now entering my 5th Club season on their 18-1's team. I have traveled up and down the East Coast and around the country playing in highly competitive tournaments including Winterfest, Irish Rumble at Spooky Nook,  NEQ's, Happy Volley at Penn State,  AAU Nationals,  Big South Qualifier,  and  Capitol Hill Classic.  In addition to my Club team, I have played on my varsity volleyball team at Wayne Hills High School since I was a sophomore.  I was instrumental in turning multiple losing seasons into a winning 16-6 season my junior year and a 15-6 record my senior year.  Over my high school career,  I accumulated 63 service aces, 267 kills, and 331 digs.  I was awarded 1st Team All-County and 1st Team All-Conference Honors for my junior volleyball season where I was also the Floor Captain.   My senior season I was selected as Team Captain and I am very proud that my high school team played in the first County Finals in school history.  My specialty is defensive specialist/libero but over the course of my volleyball career, I have played every position that has been asked of me. I am a hard worker, committed to improving every aspect of my game, and have been working with an athletic trainer outside of my volleyball training to improve my strength and conditioning. In addition to volleyball, I plan to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. I currently have a 3.71 GPA and was inducted into the National Honor Society my junior year.  I aspire to excel academically as well as athletically.
