My love for volleyball began at a very young age when I would watch my older sister's CYO team play. I started playing volleyball in 6th grade for my community's CYO team where I was taught strong foundations. I started playing club volleyball when I was 13 and I immediately enjoyed the increased speed of play. When I was a freshman I was pulled up to the varsity team which we ended up going to the New York state championships that year. From that experience, I was inspired to work hard to improve my level of play. I gained much of my knowledge about the sport from the influence of the older girls on the team. I now play for The Island Volleyball Academy, and this past season my team earned a bid to the GJNC in Detriot. Volleyball has shaped my character by making me a supporting teammate and a selfless player. I love cheering for a teammate's success! I am a determined athlete and I am willing to leave it all on the court for the success of the team.
Having the opportunity to be on a college volleyball team is important to me because of the passion I have to play. I plan on majoring in Biology to put me on the Pre-Medical track in order to one day reach my goal of becoming a dermatologist.
I am an A student, and I take the hardest courses my school has to offer which includes AP and honors classes. As well as spending my time playing volleyball and studying, I also play the cello in my high school's orchestra and have been selected to participate in many select musical festivals. I enjoy participating in high-level athletics, academics, and music. I acknowledge the importance of academic performance in my overall college career's success.
