2023 Highlights
2023 SpotlightMy name is Kejsi Metko and I'm a senior in high school. I was born and raised for 15 years in Europe, more specifically Albania. That's where I also discovered my passion for volleyball when I was 10 years old and I have played ever since. My parents have made sure I had access to many different sports, arts and other extra curricular activities that I liked since I was very young including: volleyball, piano, painting, chess, tennis, track, acting, dance etc. I enjoy trying different things and having a busy schedule because it made me grow as a person and have passion for different aspects of life. However, I have always managed to stay on top of my academics and maintained a high GPA. Moving to the US with my family was a big change for us, but I got used to it quickly and felt comfortable soon, because I found a way to connect with others and make friendships, especially through volleyball.
The past 2 years of volleyball that I have played in the US in school and club teams have helped me grow so much as a player and as a person. I have made many connections, developed new skills and perfected skills I already had. I have become a versatile player considering I have experience as a middle blocker, outside hitter and opposite hitter; I feel comfortable in all these positions. Since I have moved here I have developed better skills in art and music too by being involved in many activities at school. One of the best programs that I'm part of is National Honors Society- only for excellent students -and JROTC - important in developing leadership skills. These program have also brought me closer to community service and volunteering and made me realize how much I enjoy helping others, which explains my interest in the medical field.
