I have loved volleyball for years and would love the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. I take pride in the fact that I am a versatile player who can play outside and middle positions. I work hard and it is important to me give my best to my coach and my team. I strive to get better each day and to learn to overcome challenges- both athletically and academically, with a positive attitude.
I began playing volleyball at age 10 and started club at 11. I was given the opportunity to play JV in 7th & 8th grade and I began playing varsity in 9th grade and have been a starter for our varsity school team. I have taken advantage of these opportunities to play up and have pushed myself to grow mentally and physically. In addition, I go to the gym numerous times a week to do an additional workout.
I always try to be a good example for my teammates by overcoming challenging moments and helping my team stay focused on our goal. I have also been given formal leadership roles through my captain positions during my second season of JV and, currently, on my club team. I always make sure to be a supportive teammate and I am quick to encourage and help fellow players move past mistakes and keep their heads up. I believe in building my team up and working together to be the best we can be.
I have the same work ethic for academics. I care a great deal about school and investing in my future. My hope is to pursue a job in the medical field. I am a strong student and I am enrolled in Honors and AP classes. In addition, I make time to give back to my community by getting involved with service projects through my church, which include preparing meals for the homebound, volunteering at Vacation Bible School, and assisting at church events. In addition, I have been involved with the Unified Sports Program at my high school and it has been such an amazing experience! I believe that hard work and perseverance can lead to great opportunities and I am excited to pursue new ones as I move forward in my life!
