Personal Statement
Volleyball has always been my safe place. Some people’s safe place is their home or with their friends, but mine is on the court. As soon as I step on the court, I am home. When I am there, all of my stress disappears and I am focused on working hard to improve my skills so I can be the best player I can be. One of the main reasons why I want to play on the collegiate level, is to face competitive teams that will help make me a better player. As a little girl, I dreamed of going to college and playing volleyball and I am determined to make my dream a reality. I plan on studying Biology and working towards earning a doctorate in Physical Therapy. I want to help people when they are hurting so they can regain their strength and independence.
I also try to do my part to help my teammates on the court. My coaches have told me that I am a natural leader and that my team spirit is contagious. As a hitter, I love energizing my team with a kill or a big block. As a setter, I love leading my team by taking charge and supporting my teammates at their best and their worst.
No matter what position I am playing, I am always trying to motivate my teammates to work hard, rallying them to give their best and shake things off when we make a mistake.
Volleyball is a sport that relies on teamwork and communication. Everyone on and off the court needs to give 110% of their effort. We need to always be communicating and stay hungry for the win. This is what I bring to my team. I am hungry for the next ball. I am hungry for the kill. I am hungry for the win.
I am ready to work hard in the classroom and on the court. I am ready to pour my heart and soul into this. I am ready to compete against the best because I am ready to become the best!
