Personal Statement
Volleyball has always been my safe place. As soon as I step on the court, I feel at home. When I am there, all of my stress disappears and I am focused on working hard to improve my skills and be the best teammate that I can be. I want to continue to play on the collegiate level because volleyball is a part of who I am. Playing brings me happiness and pride. As a little girl, I dreamed of going to college and playing volleyball and I am determined to make my dream a reality. I am interested in studying Nursing and I am looking for a college that has high academic standards, a competitive volleyball program and a diverse and spirited campus life.
I have always gravitated towards helping people because this brings me joy. I also try to do my part to help my teammates on the court. My coaches have told me that I am a natural leader and that my team spirit is contagious. I'm pretty easy to spot on the court. I am the one leading the celebration and pumping her fist in the air after we score.
As a hitter, I love energizing my team with a kill or a big block. I am always hungry for the next ball and thrive under pressure. No matter what position I am playing or if I am on the sidelines, I am always trying to motivate my teammates to work hard and rallying them to give their best and shake things off when we make a mistake.
When I think about starting this next chapter in my life, I am open to be challenged in the classroom and on the court. I am hoping to find a team that feels like family and a school community that feels like home.
