Hi, my name is Chi Chi Ejindu and I am currently a sophomore at the Early College at Guilford in Greensboro, NC. I am a Middle Hitter but have also played as an Outside. I first started playing recreational volleyball in 8th grade before transitioning into club volleyball that same year. I have loved the game of volleyball since the start of middle school and strived to better myself as a player at all times. Despite neither my middle nor high school having a sports program, that didn't stop me from continuing to play. After trying out for my home school in 2020, and making JV, I only wanted to work even harder and prove to others as well as myself that I could do much better. As a volleyball player aspiring to play at the collegiate level, it's only natural that I never stop working to improve my gameplay.
On the court, I always try my best to play hard and smart, to stay aggressive while still mixing up my hits. I always want to be a player that can keep getting better and due to that ongoing mindset, I respect all the advice I'm given and allow it to properly affect the way I play. Alongside this, I am someone who will maintain high energy and always give over 100%. This includes using this energy to lift my teammates and push them to finish the game without any regrets.
While I am deeply committed as far as how hard I work on the court, I am also aware of the significance of my academics. As an early college student-athlete, I must balance both sides of my life. Taking both Honors and AP classes, I always studied diligently in the classroom, resulting in all A's. This commitment to maintaining academic control has provided me with the opportunity to develop a strong work ethic. Overall, it has always been an ambition of mine to hold myself to a high standard both on and off the court, and I hope the college of my choice shares that belief as well.
