As a person who thinks that there is no way sky can be the limit, I have big dreams for my future. In the classroom, my favorite thing is to be challenged. If there is a math problem that I am stuck on, I will not leave that class until I figure it out. In college I would like to be challenged academically so that I can be kept on my toes. Same thing goes for my true passion, volleyball. I am not going to college just to play, I am going to grow as a person, grow as a player, and grow as a teammate. Just the thought of being able to represent my college through a sport I love so much makes me want to get better at volleyball every single day. There has not been a day where I have stepped in the gym without my heart on my sleeve and not ready to give it my all. Although practice might just be one singular part of my day, you can bet I will be working my hardest, bruising my hips, and losing my breath. I hold myself to a higher standard than most. There is a quote by Brian Tracy that I often think of while I'm on the court, "Leaders set high standards. Refuse to tolerate mediocrity or poor performance." His words remain with me constantly because I do sometimes get frustrated with those who do not try as hard as they should, but I think back to Tracy and I hear him telling me to be more of a leader. Leaders would rather help others become better than take it all for themselves. I hold my teammates accountable, but I am always there to help them better themselves. My ultimate collegiate aspirations are to become a great scholar while growing as a leader and a volleyball player.
