Volleyball is one part of my life that I cannot get enough of. Whether I am in school season, JO, or beach, I cherish every second I get on the court. I began playing in third grade and worked hard to develop my skills as an outside hitter. The hard work paid off when as a sophomore, I earned a spot on our varsity team. I eventually transitioned to the back row. Later that year our JO team won the OVR American Division Championship in Columbus. As a junior, our high school varsity team won our district championship. While my sophomore year held many accomplishments, I grew the most as a player my junior year during JO season. I was fortunate to train with phenomenal coaches and dedicated teammates who challenged me in new ways resulting in some of the best performances of my career.
Be it sports, academics or life challenges, I enjoy competition and the pressure that comes along with it. In life, more can be accomplished with a team than as an individual. Being a member of a team to accomplish goals beyond oneself is what drives me to be a better athlete, student, and member of society. Coaches and teachers offer the guidance to help me achieve my goals and someday I look forward to returning the favor coaching young athletes.
