Personal Statement
My name is Stephanie Camden and I attend Fort Frye High School in Beverly, Ohio. I will graduate in May 2020 and plan to attend college and major in Biology in order to eventually go to med school. I fell in love with volleyball in the summer of my sixth grade year when I attended camp at Marietta College. I also enjoyed basketball but really fell in love with volleyball because it takes the entire team working together in order to be successful and win!
My goals for college are to attend an excellent school where I can play volleyball and also have exposure to a good Science program where I can maintain a high GPA for acceptance into graduate school. I would love to find that perfect fit where I can also make a positive contribution to my college by participating in campus organizations and clubs. Some qualities that may make me different from other recruits include humility, ability to listen and apply what I'm told, and I enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a team. I feel I have learned how to be an effective leader by being the starting varsity setter for the past three years. Our high school volleyball team has had a great deal of success and has been to the Regionals (Sweet 16) the last three years in a row in the State of Ohio! I look forward to that same level of success in college in athletics and academics!
