Personal Statement
My determination and drive to achieve a standard or goal that I have set on myself is one of my best character traits about me. I strive to be better at every practice and even during my individual workouts. I enjoy bringing my teammates and anyone else joy and laughter. I believe that when I am on the court with my team during a game or practice, the only way we will be successful is if we are having fun while maintaining skill which is why I try my hardest to exemplify that. Whenever I mess up a pass as a libero, I do not shake it off nor do I sit on it and pout, instead I like to find ways to avoid making that mistake in the future and for that to reoccur. Everyone messes up and makes mistakes because that is life, but to me it is how I can move on and better myself that matters to me. I am extremely blessed to have self-discipline and a hard-working ethic when it comes to academics like tests and homework. I am a straight-A student and place high expectations on myself when it comes to assignments. When a teacher announces the homework and due date, I complete it as soon as possible and do not procrastinate. During my collegiate years, I hope to develop more skills that will help me when I graduate from college. I hope to complete college as well as get my nursing degree, so I can go on to open my own business as an esthetician/dermatologist. I consider myself different from other recruits because of my attitude and persistence. I am very outgoing and social which encourages my teammates on the court. I like to think I am good at cheering people up especially if my teammate messed up and is down after the play. I am persistent when it comes to facing challenges either alone or with other people beside me and figuring out how I or we can overcome it. Because I am the only girl of 3 brothers, I am mentally strong. When I am faced with a challenge, I do not cower away. Usually if something is hard or people are doubting, I will use that as motivation to accomplish it even more. With passion and discipline anything can be achieved.
