My name is Lindsey Buckley, I am a sophomore at Hilliard Davidson high school in Hilliard Ohio. I was a gymnast from about age 3-10, but after about age 10, I decided to get away from gymnastics, to something that I felt I wanted to do long term, I got involved in the church league volleyball where I fell in love with it. Volleyball is now my passion. I have been part of a club team for the past four seasons. I play for Mintonette sports in Columbus Ohio and this past season my team made it to nationals in the USA division and we got third overall. Through all of this I have learned if you work hard you can do anything. My goal is to play volleyball in college. My parents have always stressed academics come first but you need to have a balance with some fun also and that’s why I like to play volleyball. My mom was a collegiate cheerleader at The Ohio State University and my dad was an all state basketball player in high school but chose to pursue his dream of being a physician and went to the University of Missouri. I understand hard work because my teachers, coaches, and parents have showed me how important it is, and I work hard in all areas of my life. I am aware that I am a little undersized however I am working with a personal trainer to increase my explosiveness and strength, and overall volleyball skills. My academic goals is to graduate high school with a 3.5 or above and find a career I am passionate about as my parents have found.
