Hello! I am 14 years old and about to begin my freshman year at Shawnee High School in Lima, Ohio. I've played on nine school and club teams since I was 10. My sisters also play volleyball and my parents have coached all sorts of sports, including volleyball, so I'm what my mom calls "a gym rat." I have kind of lived and breathed this sport and enjoy it more than anything.
I'm so serious about volleyball that I talked my parents into letting me transfer schools. Before my 8th grade year, I left my small private Christian school to attend the larger public school in my district so that I would have great sports opportunities, specifically in volleyball, because it is my dream to play at the college level someday.
I think something special about me is that I am very coachable and simply have a great attitude at all times. I've had several adults point out that I don't let much of anything affect how I play. I love the sport so much and I think that shows in my effort and attitude on the court. If I make a mistake, I shake it off quickly and move on. I love the comradery of playing sports and also enjoy seeing my teammates succeed as well.
I could definitely get stronger in my academics. I ended my 8th grade year with a 3.1 GPA. It was higher at the private school but it was kind of a tough transition transferring schools and getting caught up in some of my classes. I also play three school sports per year plus club volleyball. Juggling the sports and outside commitments (like friends, family and church) along with homework and studying took a little time to figure out, but I ended the school year with all A's and B's the last quarter. I plan to work really hard my upcoming freshmen year to stay mentally tough.
I hope you enjoy watching some of my videos. I have some posted on NCSA, but you can see more on my mom's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIJEAPPk59ULaKfR--w9fJQ/videos
Thanks for reading and possibly considering me!
