Playing volleyball is a sport I am deeply passionate about. Going in during my first year I just threw myself at the sport I was always as good as I am now, in the beginning I used to struggle with confidence I thought I was never going to meet the expectations required for this sport but I never gave up, I studied plays in and out of school, I trained myself, I practiced until my body couldn’t practice anymore, I paced myself and I gained so much confidence over the last 4 years. This sport isn’t just a sport to me, it’s something I never thought I would’ve wanted to do as I grew up but it’s a desire for me. Nobody is the perfect candidate you have to build that credit yourself, that is why I feel as if I could show anybody better than I could tell them. What makes me different is that when I am on the court I watch every move I make, I never stand still, if I make a mistake I shake it off & remember it for the next round and I fix it instantly. What makes me different is that I know how to control my hits, I know when the ball is going to come either at me too hard & fast or too soft & short. Academically, what makes me different is that I don’t put my academic and athletics in the same category, this way I don’t over stress myself trying to maintain both in the proper manner.
