Kaley Vaughn '18 Recruiting Profile

I was born and raised in the Toledo, Ohio area and have attended Toledo Christian Schools since kindergarten.  At Toledo Christian, I am in the Honors program and am taking AP Calculus, AP English, and AP Psychology my senior year.  I have consistently been on the Merit Roll throughout my academic career and currently maintain a 4.3 weighted GPA.  I have a passion for children and am interested in pursuing education or some other field which will allow me to work with children.

I began playing club volleyball in 7th grade at Premier Academy in Maumee, Ohio.  I have played various positions since the start of my volleyball career, including setter, outside and right-side hitter, but my primary focus is setting.  I was selected as captain of my team for my 2016 and 2017 club seasons.  In addition, I was captain of Toledo Christian's varsity team my junior and senior year.   As captain, I look to lead and motivate my team in a positive manner both on and off the court. I actively seek out leadership opportunities such as this, including my involvement in Student Ciouncil at Toledo Christian. I serve as a "House Captain" for my school this year. As House Captain, I am responsible for mentoring the underclassmen.

  For the 2017 season, I was named TAAC Player of the Year and received First Team All TAAC.  My junior year, I received First Team All District and First Team All TAAC.

I was invited to play on the U17 USA-BIP team as part of the European Global Challenge during the summer of 2016.  I spent two weeks in Europe, traveling to various countries while playing on a volleyball team with girls from other parts of the United States, as well as from Croatia and France.  This past summer I played club sand volleyball through Premier Academy.  This upcoming club season I will be playing on the U18 Nationals team for Legacy Volleyball Club in Michigan.

My desire is to play at the collegiate level upon my graduating from high school in 2018.
