Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Maya Cardenas-Powell. I'm a student at Aloha High School in Beaverton, Oregon and I'm set to graduate in 2024. I am 5'6 and my primary position is DS. I've been a starter on my high school's varsity team all four years where I played as a L/OH/RH/DS. I play club for the Multnomah Athletic Club, playing all 6 rotations. As a student-athlete I am a dedicated and versatile athlete with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. On the court, I bring skill, adaptability, and a team-oriented mindset. Off the court, my character is marked by integrity, discipline, and leadership. Academically, I maintain a solid record, showcasing my ability to balance sports and studies. I plan to major in Business Administration and minor in Finance to become a Financial Manager. What sets me apart is my holistic approach, I aspire to contribute not only athletically but also to the positive team culture and academic reputation of the institution. I am excited about the opportunity to bring my skills, dedication and character to your team and contribute to its success. I’m the first one to arrive on the court and the last to leave. I may not be on the winningest team, but I play every single match/set with heart.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
