Hello! I’m Rose Hogan, a student athlete with a 4.1 weighted GPA at Catlin Gabel, the #1 ranked school in Oregon.
Volleyball for me is about the game, and so much more. As Captain of four teams over the past four years, I’ve become a strong leader, communicator and community builder. Supporting my team whether winning or losing, on or off the court, is important to me, and my peers have voted me Most Inspirational and Best Teammate. I work hard to be a good teammate and strong athlete. This has taught me resilience, hard work, determination and consistency. These are skills that build the mindset of an athlete and in turn the heart of a compassionate competitor.
Not only have I gained experiences as a leader, I’ve also become a strong volleyball player. I’ve been playing volleyball since 3rd grade and have consistently built my skills playing on a respected, national travel team for the last two years. This year I am setting in a 6-2 for Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy 16-1 National and we qualified for the CEVA region Open Power League, were invited to NIT Battle for Bartle and will be competing at GJNC nationals. Prep Dig has recognized me as one of the top uncommitted setters to watch for 2027. For high school volleyball, I set in a 5-1 as starter for Junior Varsity, and have captained my team and swung up to Varsity my freshman and sophomore years. I am a three sport athlete. In addition to volleyball, I competed in varsity basketball and track and field this year.
Outside of volleyball, I’m passionate about leadership, art, the outdoors and exploring the world. I was re-elected as Class President for the second year in a row. I sing with the Portland Symphonic Girlchoir, an award winning youth choir recognized as one of the best in North America and had the opportunity to perform with them at Carnegie Hall in NYC in July 2024. I had the incredible experience of exploring Ghana, West Africa, as part of a selective, global educational immersion program my 9th grade year. spent the latter part of that summer on Mt. Hood, working on the Elana Gold Forest Restoration Project, alongside the US Forest Service and other high school students. I've spent multiple summers working as a volunteer camp counselor for a children's arts camp (Cognizart). I'm currently interested in studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE).
My experiences on and off the court have made me a curious, compassionate, and persistent individual. I’m seeking a strong volleyball program with a phenomenal culture at a high academic college or university.
I look forward to connecting with you!
