Volleyball is my passion. I fell in love with the sport in elementary school and strive to continuously improve myself. I am currently a 6-2 rotational player. I hit on the right side when I am front row, and set when I rotate to the back row. Although hitting and setting are my primary positions, I am an extremely versatile player. For instance, I have played defense from the backrow, and I’m open to wherever my coach needs me.
I began playing volleyball at a very small private school, and I’m currently playing for Trinity High School Volleyball. I am a former member of the THS girls basketball team as well. I decided my sophomore year that I wanted volleyball to have my full attention, so I made the decision to no longer play basketball so I could expand my volleyball skills. I immediately began playing club volleyball for Kokoro in the Ohio Valley Region, which expanded my love for the game.
Academically, I have an interest in business or biology and I’m considering becoming a nurse anesthetist or other type of medical doctor. My attitude and character on and off the court differentiates me according to my coaches and mentors. I am a good teammate and friend to all of the players, smiling and cheering them on, and encouraging them after every play. As a junior, I was voted captain by my high school team this year, which was a great honor and made me proud to lead my team and help them reach their potential. My ultra competitiveness sets me apart from most of my teammates. The moment I step on the court, I’m focused and ready to win. Winning a match with my team is an indescribable feeling. Even in a loss, the motivation I get from it is electrifying and inspires me to be better. Volleyball is my passion, and I am determined to make it a part of my college life.
