Cayla Gilmore '24 Recruiting Profile

I'm Cayla Gilmore, a Junior and 2-year starter on the varsity volleyball team at South Aiken High School, in Aiken, South Carolina. During club season I play for Augusta Juniors Volleyball (AJV 17 Royal) in Augusta, Georgia. While I've only been playing organized volleyball for just over 3 years, I've worked hard to improve each and every year.  This past season I was ranked as the #13 player in South Carolina at my position, which shows how far I've came from the 8th grader who didn't make the middle school volleyball team.  Raised in a military household my parents have taught me to set goals and work hard to achieve them.  I'm driven, hardworking, and love the game of volleyball and my next goal is to be a part of a collegiate program.  What makes me different from other recruits is I turn into a different person on the court, and you can truly see my personality on the court and how passionate I am about volleyball. In the classroom, I'm a very respectful and engaged student who works hard and would like to major in Biology or Pre-Veterinary program.
