Hello, my name is Mary Grace “MG” Swanson. I started volleyball in middle school and am currently in my junior year. I played (in order) for my middle school team as a starting hitter, and then my first year of club at Low Country Volleyball Club on the 14 National level as a hitter. I then made my JV team at May River High School as a MB. I received my school specific “Shark Award” from my coach for my leadership and attitude. My second year of club I was a part of the LCVC 16 Power team as a setter and right side hitter. I have just finished my second year of high school volleyball playing starting setter on the Varsity level. I received the award for best GPA on the varsity team with a 5.0. I then played starting setter for my third year of club with Seaside Volleyball Club at the 17 Club/Power level. I am now the starting setter for Beaufort Volleyball Club at the 17 Power level. I have been praised by my coaches for my constant positive attitude on the court and my ability to raise the energy of my team. I have also been praised for my ability to quickly learn skills and apply them in games and during practice. I am a diligent and committed student and am striving to become a veterinarian in the future. I would love to attend a school that offers opportunities in veterinary medicine, animal studies, or biology majors that can be applied in the veterinary field. Volleyball is the only sport out of the many I have participated in, of which include cheer, basketball, soccer, golf, and tennis, that I am striving to play in college because of my passion, commitment, and love for the game.
