My name is Caitrin Hanke, and I am currently a junior at Oconee Christian Academy in Seneca, South Carolina. I have been playing volleyball since the sixth grade, and I have enjoyed playing on both club and school teams. My primary position is setter, and I have been a starter on varsity since my freshman year. My secondary position is defensive specialist, although I usually play as the only setter in a 5-1 rotation. I have played a number of other sports such as soccer, softball, and tennis, and also spent twelve years doing multiple forms of dance, but I have chosen to focus my efforts on volleyball. I am hopeful to play volleyball in college where I can be a part of a high-level collegiate team that supports each other and encourages one another to build upon their athletic ability. I am constantly trying to get better by participating in camps and showcases where I can receive advice from multiple coaches on how to improve my skills while also working with my school and club team coaches to improve my day-to-day abilities. I not only strive to do well in athletics, but also in academics by maintaining a strong GPA while taking both honors and AP classes. I feel that I am a strong candidate for your program not only due to my athletic ability, but my leadership abilities both on and off the court.
