The highest point of my high school career so far has been helping my team win our district. When we matched up with our district rivals in the championship game of the tournament, everyone was all in for one purpose. Although winning this game felt like the best thing ever at the time, the majority of my growth has happened before this big game. My biggest struggle has been confidence, but with lots of hard work and every touch on the ball, I am wearing away the timid me and letting the best me come through. My best attributes and qualities to help my team are my encouragement, perseverance, and kindness.
With every good or bad contact, there is something that can be said. Whether that be positive or negative is up to me. I am very vocal on the court and choose not to let an unkind word come out of my mouth. "From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" - Matt. 12:24. I believe that we win as a team and lose as a team and my attitude portrays that. I may not be perfect, but I am willing to persevere and do my best for my team. This not only applies in volleyball but life as well. "Progression over perfection" is a quote regularly used by one of my favorite coaches and I agree with him. Every chance we get to be better, whether that be in volleyball, school, or everyday life we should take that chance.
