I started playing volleyball at the age of 11 and instantly fell in love with the sport. I have played club, high school, and recreational leagues. I love volleyball because it lets me put all of my focus in one place, and it allows me to put hard work into something tangible. The only other activity that gives me this feeling is reading. Reading is my second passion, and I can read at least 5 books a week. When I open a book, it is like I am in a different world. If anyone would ask me to pick between going to a party or staying at home to read, I would pick the latter. I am an all A student and currently have a 6.5 GPA. I am enrolled in all advanced level classes, AP, and Dual Credit. I have been accepted into the National Honor Society. I have received many academic awards in school and praises from my teachers. I am also involved in HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), International Club-where I learn about other cultures and countries, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)- and a book club for Young Adult readers where I write book reviews and participate in author interviewing. I also have started assisting and coaching for my club in the developmental league. Learning something new and making good grades is another one of my passions, and with that I strive to become a pediatrician or physician's assistant. If people could describe me they would call me hard working, kind, and reliable. I love to be surrounded by my family and friends, along with my dog, Ollie, and hedgehog, Evangeline. Something I look forward to in college is meeting new people who have my same interests and finding new passions. I hope to become a member of a college volleyball team that focuses on developing young women into confident athletes who can compete with the best. I am looking forward to my club season this year, and cannot wait to build a bond with my teammates and hopefully qualify for Nationals!
