Sarah Carman '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sarah Carman, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read my profile.  

I currently set for TAV Houston 17 Black (# 1 team), a club based in The Woodlands, TX.  As a sophomore and junior, I set for the Varsity team at Cypress Ranch High School (over 3,300 students) in Cypress, Texas (Houston).  I earned Academic All District and was voted Team Player by my teammates in 2015.  Upon completion of my sophomore year, I ranked 84 out of 888 students in my class.

I have been playing volleyball since 5th grade, and except for one season, I played for the Texas Tornados from 2012 through the 2016 season when I moved to TAV Houston.  I have a strong work ethic and am dedicated to being the best volleyball player possible.  I currently train for strength and conditioning with my Cy Ranch teammates five days per week, and I put in another 1.5 hours twice each week with my strength and mobility coach at The Metal Chapter.  I regularly take private lessons to improve my setting, hitting, and defensive skills  In my spare time, I am teaching myself to play the piano.       

During my pre-High School years, I also played basketball where I started every game at Small Forward for my Junior High School "A" team.  While achieving success in sporting activities, I also played Percussion for the Symphonic Band, the highest level composed mostly of the top 8th grade students.  I believe these successes are a strong indication of my strong desire to be the best at everything I do.  I consider myself a leader, and I take great pride in helping others succeed.

It is my dream to play college volleyball at a school with a rigorous academic program.  I intend to pursue a degree in Accounting while in College, and I am open to wide-ranging geographic areas and varied school sizes.
