Kristen Wells '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Kristen Wells, and am part of the class of 2023.  I am a 5' 7" setter who can also play defensive specialist and hit right side as well.   I've been playing volleyball with school and club for a total of 7 years.   Currently I'm playing at Instinct Volleyball Club (18 Lions Wild Gold), and previously played for Coach Andrew Palileo with North Point Volleyball Club for three years, with the last two on national teams. I also play beach volleyball at 692, which has been another great way to enjoy the sport as well as stay fit. 

One of my strengths is my IQ for the sport.  I have studied the positions and plays and look forward to calling plays for my teammates on the court.  As a setter I focus on the how best to set the different hitters on my team, as each person has their unique strengths (some need their sets higher, some lower, and some faster).  I also pay attention to our opponents to understand where the best opportunities for scoring may be.

My biggest asset is that I'm a team player and an athlete who not only focuses on the court but also in the classroom. I'm currently in the top 3% of my class with a 5.0 weighted GPA so my grades are important to me as well.  As a college athlete I am driven to excel both athletically and academically and I believe I would be a great fit for the right program.

I would love to become part of a team family where I can contribute to their success, but also look forward to building those teammate relationships that comes from working together for the same goals.
