From a young age, I knew I wanted to play college sports. At the time, that sport was softball, but now I definitely have my focus on volleyball. Since I grew up playing several sports and nearly every position in each, I am extremely versatile and I adjust well to change. My whole volleyball career, I have been a utility player that has played OH, OPP, and MB(blocks leader 2 years in a row), but this year I am transitioning into mostly defense.
What sets me apart from others is my drive and determination. Growing up playing softball, I was exposed to balls hitting me at high speeds and being left with dark bruises all over my body, which has helped me on the court, because I have no fear of throwing my body after a ball and I am always willing to run through a wall to keep the ball from dropping.
Outside of volleyball, my dream is to practice sports medicine, and to one day work with professional athletes all of the country. I have always had the desire to get a deeper understanding of why and how things happen to/in athletes bodies, so by practicing sports medicine, I will be able to gain knowledge on a variety of illnesses while helping athletes return to their best selves. Because medicine is so difficult, I am making my academics a priority and taking many classes to increase my exposure in the medical field.
