Personal Statement
I am extremely grateful to be play the sport I love and to have a family supporting me every step of the way. As an immigrant from Venezuela, I know that my parents have sacrificed everything they have in order for my brother and I to have a better life and achieve the goals we wouldn’t have been able to achieve in my country. Because I’ve seen and learned from their hardwork, I am determined and give 110% in everything I do, especially on the court and in the classroom, to earn an academic or athletic scholarship and make them proud.
I am currently a captain and rightside hitter at Fulshear Highschool, but played middle and outside last season, making me a versatile player. I love challenges and being pushed and critiqued, as I feel that learning from those things makes me a better player and a better person. As a captain, I do my best to constantly impact my teammates and those around me in the best way possible and bring the most energy whether I’m on the court or not!
I would like to major in pre-law studies in order to one day become a criminal defense attorney and help others. I am not picky when it comes to certain things such as what division a college is or how many students are enrolled, I’m just looking for a place where I feel at home and where I know I can be successful not just by myself, but with my teammates as well! If blessed with the opportunity to play in college, I would give my all and more to my coach, teammates, and my school because that’s the kind of person I am and the type of person I believe is important to have on a team.
